Copyright Policy
How to report copyright infringement, and how we respond.
- Version 1.0
- Effective October 29, 2026
- For: Copyright owners and communities
Our approach
We respect intellectual property. We respond to valid notices of claimed infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. section 512) and similar laws elsewhere. This applies to content we host (community pages and descriptions) and to short links that point elsewhere.
Sending a notice
Send your notice to our designated agent. It must include:
- (a) your physical or electronic signature;
- (b) a description of the copyrighted work;
- (c) the exact address of the material or short link (for example go.teamala.org/link/community/name);
- (d) your contact details;
- (e) a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- (f) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the copyright owner.

What we do
3.1 We remove or disable the material or short link promptly.
3.2 We tell the community what we removed and why, how to send a counter-notice, and how to ask for a review.
3.3 For people in the European Union, we also follow the Digital Services Act notice-and-action rules described on our Content Moderation and Online Safety page.
Counter-notices
4.1 If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send our agent a counter-notice. It must include:
- (a) your signature;
- (b) a description of what was removed and where it was;
- (c) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- (d) your name, address and telephone number; and
- (e) your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which TeamALA may be found, and to accept service from the person who sent the notice.
4.2 Unless the person who sent the notice tells us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material.
4.3 We offer counter-notices for short links too, although the law does not require it.
Repeat infringers
We end, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and communities of people who repeatedly infringe. In general, a community or account with three valid notices that have not been successfully countered within 12 months loses the ability to create links and pages, and may be closed.
False notices
Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. section 512(f)).
